# Wan 3.0 AI Video Generator Online

Wan 3.0 is Alibaba's newest Wan video model: it renders 2 to 30 seconds of video with native sound at up to 1080p, from a text prompt or a start frame. You can run it here in your browser without an Alibaba Cloud account, on the same credit balance as Kling, Veo and Seedance. A default 10-second 1080p clip costs 60 credits, and a 5-second 720p draft costs 15.

THE MODEL

## What is Wan 3.0?

Wan 3.0 is the third generation of Alibaba's Wan video models, an all-in-one model that turns text, images, audio, video, documents or web pages into a video of up to 30 seconds with sound. Alibaba opened a public beta in early August 2026 and declared the model generally available on Alibaba Cloud Model Studio on August 24, 2026, under the API name wan3.0-video.

One model handles every task type. Alibaba's guide describes text-to-video, first-frame image-to-video, first-and-last-frame generation, reference-based generation, video editing and video extension, all routed by the inputs you send. Output is MP4 at 30 frames per second in 480p, 720p or 1080p.

### Built for a full scene in one take

The headline change is length. Wan 2.7-Video topped out at 15 seconds; Wan 3.0 doubles that to 30 seconds in one generation. Alibaba's launch note highlights continuous camera moves, one-shot sequences and consistent characters, props, sound, space and style across the clip.

### Sound comes with the picture

Audio is on by default in Alibaba's API. The model generates dialogue, background music and sound effects in the same pass as the video, so a clip arrives with a soundtrack you can keep or replace in an editor.

### Where AI Content Drop fits

AI Content Drop is an independent platform that runs Wan 3.0 next to Kling, Veo, Seedance, Hailuo and 50+ other models from one credit balance. You need no Alibaba Cloud account, API key or region choice, and you see the credit price before you render.

VERSIONS

## What's new in Wan 3.0 compared with Wan 2.5, 2.6 and 2.7

Wan 3.0 doubles the longest clip from 15 to 30 seconds, adds 480p as a cheaper tier, and folds text, image, reference, editing and extension work into one model instead of separate ones. The table lists each Wan release with the date and change Alibaba published.

### Wan 3.0 vs Wan 2.5

Wan 2.5 was the first Wan model with native audio, and it capped clips at 10 seconds. Wan 3.0 triples that length, adds first-and-last-frame control and reference inputs, and keeps audio on by default. Here, Wan 2.5 runs as a text-only lane at 720p, while Wan 3.0 adds frames and 1080p.

### Wan 3.0 vs Wan 2.6 and 2.7

Wan 2.6 and 2.7 both stopped at 15 seconds. Wan 2.7 introduced editing an existing video with plain-language instructions, which Wan 3.0 keeps. Wan 3.0 adds the 30-second ceiling, a 480p tier and inputs such as a PDF, a slide deck or a public web page. This platform does not run a Wan 2.7 video lane; our review covers the Wan 2.7 image model.

| Version | Official date | What changed | Open weights |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Wan 2.1 | February 25, 2025 | Text-to-video and image-to-video at 480p and 720p; a 1.3B model needs about 8 GB of VRAM | Yes, Apache 2.0 |
| Wan 2.2 | July 28, 2025 | Mixture-of-experts 14B models, plus a 5B model that makes 720p video on one 24 GB GPU | Yes, Apache 2.0 |
| Wan 2.5 (preview) | September 24, 2025 | Native audio generation; clip length doubled from 5 to 10 seconds | No |
| Wan 2.6 | December 16, 2025 | Clips up to 15 seconds, multi-shot storytelling, reference-to-video that keeps a subject's look and voice | No |
| Wan 2.7 | April 7, 2026 | 2–15 seconds at 720p or 1080p; natural-language video editing; separate text, image, reference and edit models | No |
| Wan 3.0 | Beta announced August 7, 2026; GA August 24, 2026 | Up to 30 seconds, 480p to 1080p, one all-in-one model, documents and web pages as inputs | No |

ON AI CONTENT DROP

## What Wan 3.0 renders here: length, resolution and aspect ratio

Here, Wan 3.0 renders 2 to 30 seconds in whole seconds, at 480p, 720p, 1080p, in 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, with sound on by default. The marketplace panel offers quick presets of 4, 5, 10, 15, 30 seconds; the video studio and the API accept any whole second in the range. A new Wan 3.0 job starts at 10 seconds and 1080p unless you change it.

The table compares Alibaba's full API with the lane that runs on this platform, so you know which features to expect before you start.

### Why some features are left out

Smart duration and reference videos change the billed length after you submit, so this lane leaves them out and keeps every price known before you click render. Reference images, audio clips, documents and web links are also not part of this lane today.

### Your video stays available

Alibaba's API returns a download link that expires after 24 hours. Here, each finished Wan 3.0 video is copied to your library before it appears, so the link keeps working.

| Feature | Alibaba Cloud API (wan3.0-video) | AI Content Drop |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Length | 2–30 s, or a smart duration the model picks | 2–30 s, whole seconds |
| Resolution | 480P, 720P, 1080P | 480p, 720p, 1080p |
| Aspect ratio | 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4, 9:16 or adaptive | 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4 |
| Sound | On by default; can be turned off | On by default |
| Frames | First frame, or first and last frame | Start frame, optional end frame |
| References | Up to 10 images, 5 videos, 5 audio clips, 1 document or link | Not offered |
| Edit or extend a video | Yes, with a reference video | Not offered |
| Account | Alibaba Cloud account, workspace, API key, region | AI Content Drop account on a paid plan |

PRICE

## Wan 3.0 credits by duration and resolution

A Wan 3.0 render costs its length in seconds times 2 credits at 480p, 3 at 720p or 6 at 1080p. Sound is included at no extra cost. The table uses the same function the server bills with, so the number you see is the number you pay.

### What the listed price covers

The catalog lists Wan 3.0 at 60 credits. That is the default job: 10 seconds at 1080p. A shorter or lower-resolution clip costs less, and a 30-second 1080p take costs 180 credits.

### How many clips a plan buys

Each row assumes you spend all monthly credits on Wan 3.0 at one setting. Unlimited models and bonuses are extra.

- Starter ($19/month, 150 credits): 10 drafts of 5 seconds at 720p, 2 clips of 10 seconds at 1080p, or 1 take of 30 seconds at 720p.
- Professional ($49/month, 450 credits): 30 drafts of 5 seconds at 720p, 7 clips of 10 seconds at 1080p, or 5 takes of 30 seconds at 720p.
- Ultra ($99/month, 1,000 credits): 66 drafts of 5 seconds at 720p, 16 clips of 10 seconds at 1080p, or 11 takes of 30 seconds at 720p.
- Business ($299/month, 3,500 credits): 233 drafts of 5 seconds at 720p, 58 clips of 10 seconds at 1080p, or 38 takes of 30 seconds at 720p.

### When credits are charged

You need enough credits to start a render. Credits are deducted only after the video finishes, so a failed Wan 3.0 render costs nothing.

| Length | 480p | 720p | 1080p |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 4 seconds | 8 credits | 12 credits | 24 credits |
| 5 seconds | 10 credits | 15 credits | 30 credits |
| 10 seconds | 20 credits | 30 credits | 60 credits |
| 15 seconds | 30 credits | 45 credits | 90 credits |
| 30 seconds | 60 credits | 90 credits | 180 credits |

IMAGE TO VIDEO

## First-frame and first/last-frame generation

Add a start frame to make Wan 3.0 animate your image, or add a start frame and an end frame to make it generate the motion between two images. Alibaba's guide says first-frame mode uses your image as the exact opening frame, which helps keep a product, a logo or a face the same as in your photo.

### Start frame only

Upload one image and describe what happens next: the camera move, the action and the sound. Do not describe the image again in detail; the frame already sets the look. Use the aspect ratio closest to your image so the model does not have to crop or pad it.

### Start and end frame

Upload two different images and describe the change between them, for example a closed box that opens to show the product. An end frame always needs a separate start frame. Keep the two images in the same setting and light, or the model has to invent a large jump between them.

### Good starting images

- A clean product shot on a plain background for a reveal or an orbit
- A storyboard keyframe for the first beat of a scene
- A before photo and an after photo for a transformation
- A brand still that must stay exact in the first second of an ad

- image-to-video scripts for Google Ads

PROMPTS

## How to prompt Wan 3.0

Write a Wan 3.0 prompt like a short shot list: what we see, how the camera moves, what changes over time and what we hear. A 30-second clip has room for several beats, so give each beat a time range instead of one long paragraph.

### A structure that works

Use this order for most prompts:

- Format and look: aspect ratio, live action or animation, lighting, lens feel
- Subject and setting: who or what, where, what they wear or how the product looks
- Beats with times: 0–6 s, 6–14 s and so on, one action and one camera move per beat
- Sound: ambience, effects, music mood, and any spoken line in quotation marks
- Exclusions: no on-screen text, no logos, no subtitles, if you plan to add them later

### Length and pacing

Alibaba's own multi-shot examples give each shot about 4 to 6 seconds. Draft a new idea at 5 seconds and 720p for 15 credits, or at 480p for 10, then render the final version long and at 1080p once the motion is right.

### Prompt length

Prompts here can run up to 20,000 characters, so you can paste a detailed brief. Longer is not always better: one clear action per beat follows more reliably than a crowded paragraph.

- hook ideas for the first two seconds
- script outliner for multi-beat videos

OPEN SOURCE

## Is Wan open source? Open weights vs the Wan 3.0 API

Wan 2.1 and Wan 2.2 are open-weight models under the Apache 2.0 license, but Wan 3.0 is not: it is available only as a hosted API. As of November 7, 2026, Alibaba's official Wan-AI organization on Hugging Face lists 27 model repositories, all of them Wan 2.1, Wan 2.2 or Wan-Dancer checkpoints; none is Wan 2.5, 2.6, 2.7 or 3.0.

### Can you run Wan locally?

You can run Wan 2.1 and Wan 2.2 on your own GPU, not Wan 3.0. Alibaba's Wan 2.2 repository says the 5B text-and-image-to-video model makes 720p video on a 24 GB card such as an RTX 4090, while the 14B models need at least 80 GB of VRAM on a single GPU. The Wan 2.1 1.3B model needs about 8 GB of VRAM at 480p.

### Where the Wan 3.0 API lives

Alibaba sells Wan 3.0 through Alibaba Cloud Model Studio, billed per second of output. The Singapore list price is $0.05 per second at 480p, $0.10 at 720p and $0.20 at 1080p, with a faster Prime tier at a higher price. The Singapore region includes a 30-second free quota, valid for 90 days. Failed generations are not billed there either.

USE IT FOR

## Wan 3.0 for ads and social video

Wan 3.0 suits ads and social posts that need one continuous scene with sound, such as a 15-second product story or a 30-second explainer, in vertical or horizontal format. Native audio means a draft already has ambience and effects before you add a voice-over or music.

### Formats that fit

- 9:16 vertical clips for TikTok, Reels and YouTube Shorts
- 16:9 YouTube pre-roll and Google Ads video in 6, 15 or 30 seconds
- 1:1 and 4:5-style feed posts, rendered at 1:1 or 3:4
- Product reveals that start from your own packshot as the first frame

### A practical ad workflow

Write three hooks, render each as a 5-second 720p draft, keep the winner, then extend the idea into a 15- or 30-second 1080p version. Add captions, price and the call to action in your editor, where text stays sharp and easy to change for each market.

KNOW BEFORE YOU RENDER

## Wan 3.0 limits and failure modes

Wan 3.0 is slower than short-clip models and has fixed input rules here, so plan for render times of several minutes and check your settings before you start. These are the limits that matter most on this platform.

### Limits on this lane

- Length must be a whole number of seconds from 2 to 30.
- Aspect ratio must be one of 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4; 21:9 and adaptive are not offered.
- An end frame needs a different start frame; two frames is the maximum.
- No reference images, reference video, reference audio, documents, links, editing or extension.
- Prompts can be up to 20,000 characters.

### What happens when a render fails

A failed Wan 3.0 job is never swapped for a different model behind your back: you either get Wan 3.0 output or an error. Long jobs can take several minutes, and the platform keeps checking for at least 15 minutes before it gives up. No credits are deducted for a failed job.

### Quality failure modes to watch

Like every current video model, Wan 3.0 can drift on small details over a long take, blur fast hand motion and garble small on-screen text. Keep critical text for your editor, keep one main action per beat, and use a start frame when a product or face must match your photo.

ALTERNATIVES

## Wan 3.0 vs Kling 3.0 vs Seedance 2.5 vs Hailuo 2.3 on this platform

Pick Wan 3.0 when you need 1080p and sound in one long take, Seedance 2.5 for 30-second takes with audio at 480p or 720p, Kling 3.0 for 1080p image-to-video at one flat price up to 15 seconds, and Hailuo 2.3 for flat-price 6-second image-to-video clips. The table shows what each model renders here, not each maker's headline maximum.

| Model | Length here | Resolution here | Sound here | Inputs here | Credits |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Wan 3.0 | 2–30 s | 480p, 720p, 1080p | Native, on by default | Text, start frame, optional end frame | 15 for 5 s at 720p; 60 for 10 s at 1080p |
| Seedance 2.5 | 4–30 s | 480p or 720p | Native audio | Text, or text plus one start image | 39 for 5 s at 720p; 78 for 10 s at 720p |
| Kling 3.0 | 3–15 s | 1080p | No audio | Start frame required, optional end frame | 22 per clip at any length |

OLDER WAN

## Wan 2.6 and Wan 2.5 on this platform

Wan 2.6 and Wan 2.5 still run here as text-to-video lanes: 5 or 10 seconds at 720p, at a flat 42 credits per clip on either. They do not take a start image on this platform, and this page does not promise audio for them.

### When an older Wan still makes sense

A 10-second 720p clip costs 42 credits on Wan 2.6 and 30 on Wan 3.0, so the older lanes no longer save credits at that length. They are useful when you want to reuse prompts written for Wan 2.5 or 2.6, or compare versions side by side on the same idea.

### Wan 2.5 prompt cap

The Wan 2.5 lane trims prompts to 800 characters and negative prompts to 500 characters, so keep Wan 2.5 prompts short and front-load the subject and the camera move.

ZERO-CREDIT LANE

## Unlimited Wan 2.2 on paid plans

Every paid plan includes a self-hosted unlimited pool of open-weight video models at zero credits, and Wan 2.2 is part of it: Wan 2.2 5B from Starter, plus the Wan 2.2 image-to-video 14B model on higher plans. Wan 3.0 itself is not in the unlimited pool; it always costs credits.

One pool model is active at a time and the active model rotates weekly; Business gets 2 active slots. Each plan has a daily cap on unlimited renders and a resolution ceiling. Wan 2.2 5B runs from text here, the 14B model needs a start image, and the unlimited lane works in the web app, not through API keys.

| Plan | Wan models in the pool | Other pool models | Unlimited renders | Max resolution |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Starter | Wan 2.2 5B | LTX 2.3 Distilled | 20 per day | 720p |
| Professional | Wan 2.2 5B | LTX 2.3 Distilled, LTX 2.3 FP8 | 40 per day | 720p |
| Ultra | Wan 2.2 5B, Wan 2.2 Image-to-Video 14B | LTX 2.3 Distilled, LTX 2.3 FP8 | 60 per day | 1080p |
| Business | Wan 2.2 5B, Wan 2.2 Image-to-Video 14B | LTX 2.3 Distilled, LTX 2.3 FP8, HunyuanVideo 1.5 | 80 per day | 1080p |

FREE OPTIONS

## Is Wan 3.0 free?

Wan 3.0 is not free on this platform: it needs a paid plan, and the 10 sign-up credits on the free plan cover images with Z-Image, FLUX.2 and Seedream 4.5 only. The free routes to Wan are the open Wan 2.1 and 2.2 weights on your own GPU, Alibaba Cloud's 30-second free quota in the Singapore region, or the unlimited Wan 2.2 pool on a paid plan here.

### The cheapest way to try Wan 3.0 here

## Wan 3.0 prompts to start with

Each prompt below is written for one Wan 3.0 version. Open it in the generator with the prompt already filled in, then change the subject, setting or camera move to fit your project.

- ### 30-second product story

A full product film in one take, ready for a 30-second ad slot

  > 16:9, live action, soft studio light, shallow depth of field. A matte black wireless speaker on a walnut table in a quiet apartment at dusk. 0–6 s: slow push-in from across the room as warm lamps switch on one by one. 6–14 s: the camera circles the speaker at table height; fabric texture and a thin brass ring catch the light. 14–22 s: a hand taps the top; a soft chime plays and gentle jazz starts from the speaker as the room light warms. 22–30 s: the camera pulls back to a wide shot of the room with the speaker glowing on the table. Sound: room tone, the chime, then soft jazz. No on-screen text, no logos, no subtitles.

- ### Vertical creator hook with dialogue

A 9:16 talking clip with a spoken line for TikTok or Reels

  > 9:16, handheld phone-selfie look, bright bathroom with window light. A woman in her late twenties with natural makeup holds a small glass serum bottle close to the lens. 0–3 s: she leans in and says in a warm, upbeat voice: "Okay, two weeks with this and look at my skin." 3–8 s: she turns her cheek to the light, then taps the bottle label with one finger. 8–10 s: she smiles and sets the bottle on the counter. Sound: her voice, a light tap on glass, quiet room tone, no music. No subtitles.

- ### First-frame product reveal

Animate your own packshot so the product stays exactly as photographed

  > Use the start frame as the opening shot. The camera slowly orbits 90 degrees to the right around the bottle while a thin stream of water droplets falls in the background and catches rim light. Halfway through, the label turns toward the camera and holds. Fine mist drifts across the frame at the end. Sound: soft water drips and a low ambient pad. Keep the bottle shape, label and colors identical to the start frame. No added text.

- ### First-to-last-frame transformation

A before-and-after reveal between two of your own images

  > Generate a smooth transformation from the start frame (an empty, dim living room) to the end frame (the same room furnished and sunlit). The camera stays locked off at eye level. FAQ

## Wan 3.0 questions and answers

Short answers to the questions people ask most about Wan 3.0 on AI Content Drop.

### What is Wan 3.0?

Wan 3.0 is Alibaba's third-generation Wan video model, released on Alibaba Cloud Model Studio in August 2026. It makes videos of up to 30 seconds with native sound at 480p, 720p or 1080p, from text, images, audio, video, documents or web pages. One all-in-one model handles text-to-video, first-frame and first-and-last-frame generation, references, editing and extension.

### When was Wan 3.0 released?

Wan 3.0 became generally available on August 24, 2026. Alibaba announced a public beta on Alibaba Cloud Model Studio and Qwen Cloud in early August 2026, then opened the wan3.0-video API to everyone without an application on August 24.

### Is Wan 3.0 free?

No, Wan 3.0 is a paid model on this platform and on Alibaba Cloud. Here it needs a paid plan, because the 10 free sign-up credits cover image models only. Alibaba Cloud includes a 30-second free quota in its Singapore region, valid for 90 days. The free options for Wan are the open Wan 2.1 and 2.2 weights, or the unlimited Wan 2.2 pool on paid plans here.

### How much does Wan 3.0 cost?

Here, Wan 3.0 costs 2 credits per second at 480p, 3 at 720p and 6 at 1080p, with sound included. A 5-second 720p clip is 15 credits and a 10-second 1080p clip is 60. On Alibaba Cloud, the Singapore list price is $0.05 to $0.20 per second, depending on resolution.

### Is Wan 3.0 open source or open weight?

No, Wan 3.0 is not open weight; Alibaba offers it only as a hosted API. Wan 2.1 and Wan 2.2 are open-weight models under the Apache 2.0 license. As of November 7, 2026, Alibaba's Wan-AI organization on Hugging Face has no Wan 2.5, 2.6, 2.7 or 3.0 checkpoints.

### Can you run Wan 3.0 locally?

No, you cannot run Wan 3.0 locally, because Alibaba has not released its weights. You can run Wan 2.2 locally: the 5B model makes 720p video on a 24 GB GPU such as an RTX 4090, and the 14B models need about 80 GB of VRAM. To use Wan 3.0, call Alibaba's API or run it in a browser here.

### How long can Wan 3.0 videos be?

Wan 3.0 videos can be up to 30 seconds long in one generation. Here you can pick any whole number of seconds from 2 to 30; the marketplace panel offers presets of 4, 5, 10, 15, 30 seconds. Wan 2.6 and Wan 2.7 stopped at 15 seconds, and Wan 2.5 at 10.

### Does Wan 3.0 support audio?

Yes, Wan 3.0 generates native audio, and it is on by default. The model creates dialogue, background music and sound effects in the same pass as the video. Here, sound is included in the credit price, so a clip with audio costs the same as the length and resolution alone.

### Wan 3.0 vs Wan 2.5: what changed?

Wan 3.0 makes clips three times as long as Wan 2.5, up to 30 seconds instead of 10. It also adds first-and-last-frame control, reference inputs, video editing and a 480p tier. Here, Wan 2.5 is a text-only 720p lane at 42 credits per clip, while Wan 3.0 adds start and end frames and 1080p.

### Which Wan version is best?

Wan 3.0 is the most capable Wan version for hosted generation, with the longest clips, native audio and 1080p. Wan 2.2 is the best choice if you need open weights to run on your own GPU or to fine-tune. Here, a 10-second 720p clip costs 30 credits on Wan 3.0 and 42 on Wan 2.6, so the older versions matter mainly for reusing older prompts.

### Is Wan 3.0 good for ads?

Yes, Wan 3.0 fits ads that need one continuous scene with sound, such as a 15- or 30-second product story. It supports vertical, square and horizontal formats, and a start frame keeps your product as photographed. Add captions, prices and calls to action in an editor, where on-screen text stays sharp.

### Is there a Wan 3.0 API?

Yes, Alibaba Cloud Model Studio offers the wan3.0-video API, billed per second of output. AI Content Drop also lists Wan 3.0 in its own REST API and MCP server, priced with the same per-second credit function as the website, so you can quote and render clips from a script or an AI agent on any paid plan.
